Employees from the Saskatoon office participated in a bottle drive in April. With the recycling from the office and from Golder’s employees bringing bottles from home, the office raised $340.02 for the Trust.

In exchange for donations to the Trust for Orphans, Abdul Afridi, an employee in the Burnaby laboratory, graciously offered his personal tax preparation services to assist GVO employees in preparing their 2009 tax returns! Many thanks, Abdul! 

Employees in the Abbotsford office raised $160 for the Trust during a recent “Charity Week”. In addition, their ongoing penny drive brought in an additional $43. Many thanks to Linda Harrison for her ongoing support!

On Saturday April 4th, the Windsor Office hosted an Indoor Sand Volleyball Tournament to raise funds for the Golder Trust for Orphans.  The four participating teams of clients and Golder staff raised $1600!  Everyone had a great time.

In the spirit of sustainability, after moving to a new office location, the Gainesville office held a silent auction and garage sale to sell the surplus of old office furniture left over from the move; all proceeds benefited the Golder Trust for Orphans. 

The silent auction was opened for all Gainesville employees to bid on old office furniture from April 21st through April 23rd. All remaining office  furniture, as well as employee donations from home, went into a garage sale on April 25th, 2009.  Signs were made, baked goods were placed to entice any garage sale customer, and Gainesville employees arrived bright and early Saturday morning to set up.  At the end of the day, a total of $800 was raised for the GTO, for both the silent auction and the garage sale. Thanks to Priscilla Grener, our Gainesville Office Champion, and her team for a job well done!
