Calgary Office Supports the Trust at WAAMStock

The Calgary office supported the Golder Trust for Orphans at their annual WAAMStock event which showcased the office’s musical talent. The staff bands encouraged donations while volunteers sold raffle tickets for a Calgary Flames hockey game. A total of $783.17 CDN was raised!

Mississauga Office Hosts Annual Bake & Craft Sale

The Mississauga office participated in preparing baked goods and crafts for their 2nd Annual Bake & Craft Sale in aid of the Golder Trust for Orphans. These homemade contributions successfully raised a total of $457.13 CDN for needy children in Africa!

Redmond Office Hosts Holiday Party Silent Auction

The Redmond office had outstanding support at their annual silent auction. Items ranged from the most popular bid item of hand crafted steelhead flies, to airline tickets which brought in the highest bid of over $600 USD. The auction was a great success raising $3,860 USD for the Trust!

Achievements in Saskatoon

The Saskatoon Office celebrated their participation in raising money for the Golder Trust for Orphans by sharing their achievements with staff. In 2010, the Saskatoon Office raised $1,985.56 CDN through: GTO World Cup Fundraiser in June 2010, recycling money from January to December 2010, and a one-time donation from the Saskatoon office. Plans for fundraising activities to benefit the Trust in 2011 are already being made!

Eggs for Orphans

The Manchester (US) office devised an innovative way to support the Golder Trust for Orphans through their “Eggs for Orphans” fundraiser. Golder employee, Peter King, brought in excess organic eggs from his chickens to the Manchester office for purchase, and donated all money collected to the Trust. A total of $50.00 USD has been collected through this fundraiser!

Essakane Gold Project Team Donates President’s Award

The President’s Awards recognise exceptional individual or team performance, which makes a significant contribution to the immediate success of Golder in Canada, and supports our company’s strategy, Vision and Values, and future success.

The Essakane Gold Project were presented an award for “Exceptional Project Team” and elected to donate the $25,000 CDN they received for a President’s Award to the Golder Trust for Orphans.

This generous donation will go a very long way to making a difference to the lives of African children!

Sunnyvale Office Snack Shack is a Hit!

The Sunnyvale office “Snack Shack” is an ongoing fundraiser in support of the Trust. Snacks and lunch items, including healthy alternatives, are purchased at the local COSTCO and sold to staff in need of a pick-me-up. This month the Snack Shack raised $125 US for the Trust for Orphans, bringing the total proceeds to $1,075 US!

Windsor Office Holds Furniture Sale for the Trust

The Windsor office moved in August of this year and were fortunate to be able to purchase a significant amount of new furniture. They decided to sell the leftover furniture and donate the funds raised to the Trust! $670 CDN was successfully raised, and any furniture not sold was donated to Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex Inc.

Calgary Office Hosts 2nd Annual Chili Cook Off

The Calgary Office showcased their cooking skills at the 2nd Annual Chili Cook Off! First a panel of volunteer judges voted for a winner, and then donations were collected in exchange for a bowl of chili. Trevor Erik and Heather Hodgson received bragging rights for their chili, Golder Inferno, and $530 CDN was raised!

Perth Office Rides to Work for the Trust

National Ride to Work Day was on Wednesday, October 13, and 48 people from the Perth Office took up the challenge to adopt a healthier and environmentally sound form of transport for the day.

The Perth riders covered 590 kms – more than all the other Golder office tallies combined, amd raised $200 in cash donations for the Golder Trust for Orphans!

The office was also recognised by Bicycle Western Australia as having the second highest number of riders from one company in Western Australia and will be awarded a plaque for our contribution to the day.
