Saskatoon Office Raises Money through Recycling Program

Employees from the Saskatoon office participated in a bottle drive in April. With the recycling from the office and from Golder’s employees bringing bottles from home, the office raised $340.02 for the Trust.

Vancouver Office Employee Offers Tax Services for Trust Donations!

In exchange for donations to the Trust for Orphans, Abdul Afridi, an employee in the Burnaby laboratory, graciously offered his personal tax preparation services to assist GVO employees in preparing their 2009 tax returns! Many thanks, Abdul!

Abbotsford Office Hosts Charity Week for Trust

Employees in the Abbotsford office raised $160 for the Trust during a recent “Charity Week”. In addition, their ongoing penny drive brought in an additional $43. Many thanks to Linda Harrison for her ongoing support!

Windsor Office Hosts Volleyball Tournament for the Trust

On Saturday April 4th, the Windsor Office hosted an Indoor Sand Volleyball Tournament to raise funds for the Golder Trust for Orphans. The four participating teams of clients and Golder staff raised $1600! Everyone had a great time.

Gainesville Office Holds Silent Auction and Garage Sale

In the spirit of sustainability, after moving to a new office location, the Gainesville office held a silent auction and garage sale to sell the surplus of old office furniture left over from the move; all proceeds benefited the Golder Trust for Orphans.

The silent auction was opened for all Gainesville employees to bid on old office furniture from April 21st through April 23rd. All remaining office furniture, as well as employee donations from home, went into a garage sale on April 25th, 2009. Signs were made, baked goods were placed to entice any garage sale customer, and Gainesville employees arrived bright and early Saturday morning to set up. At the end of the day, a total of $800 was raised for the GTO, for both the silent auction and the garage sale. Thanks to Priscilla Grener, our Gainesville Office Champion, and her team for a job well done!

Midrand Office Hosts Easter Raffle and Egg Hunt for the Trust!

Many thanks to the efforts of the Midrand office staff, who raffled a beautiful Easter Basket to raise money for the Trust. In addition, an Easter Egg Hunt took place at the office. Much fun was had by all, and R8000 was raised for the Trust.

Congratulations to Cheryl Oakes, Maggie Meyer and Wade Govender, who won the Easter Egg Hunt. Congratulations to Isabel Zietsman, who won the draw for the basket. And thanks to Fred Sutherland for matching all funds raised by Golder employees!

Generous Donation Made by Two of Golder’s Suppliers

Two of Golder’s suppliers recently made sizable donations to the Golder Trust for Orphans.

Lucie Arsenault, President of Luz Design, Golder’s design agency, recently donated to the Golder Trust for Orphans.

Additionally, Talbot Marketing, who supplies Golder Canada with its “Golder Ware”, recently made a sizable donation to the Trust. Says Linda Mah, Talbot’s account representative for Golder, “We think it’s such a great thing that you are doing, we just wanted to show our support.”

In Memory of Victor Milligan

Golder Employees Raise Over $10,000 USD in Global Quilt Fundraiser!

GAC Matches Contributions for a Total of $20,000 USD Raised!

Over 1200 Golder employees around the world participated in the Global African Quilt Fundraiser in April and May, raising over $10,000 USD for the Golder Trust for Orphans. New GAC President Brian Conlin matched the employee donations for a total of $20,000 USD raised.

from the Mississauga office for all your enthusiasm and help, and to Erica Gilby for making and generously donating the quilt for the raffle.

The draw for the quilt was won by Dennis Martin from the Ottawa office. Congratulations, Dennis!
The official challenge to the offices was won by the downtown Toronto Office.

Calgary Office Raffles Valentine’s Gift Basket for the Trust!

Many thanks to Tania Glithero and a team of Golder Trust for Orphans volunteers in Calgary who built a Valentine’s Gift Basket only 2 days before Valentine’s Day and raffled it in exchange for donations to the Trust. The Calgary office contributed $602.24 and the basket was won by Shonna Boles.
